FRANKFORT, Ky. – Peter Bowles has been named park manager at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Western Kentucky.

Before his May 1 appointment, Bowles served as business manager for 14 years at the park near Dawson Springs. He also worked as the business manager at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park near Prestonsburg for two years.

“Peter has excellent experience with state parks and his knowledge will be valuable as a park manager,” said Deputy Commissioner John Kington. “We’re glad to be able to promote an experienced manager.”

Bowles is a 1989 graduate of the University of Louisville. He is a native of Madisonville.

“Our park allows guests to take a step out of the fast lane of life,” Bowles said. “I'm excited about the new porcelain tile in our lobby area, new dining room carpet and other upgrades to our property.”

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park features a 24-room lodge and 12 cabins, camping, a golf course and a lake.
