Pioneer Museum At Blue Licks To Hold Open House July 7

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Pioneer Museum at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park will have an open house on Friday, July 7. Admission will be free for the event.

 

Visitors can tour the museum, hold a real mastodon tooth, view pioneer relics and learn about the history of one of the last battles of the Revolutionary War.

 

The museum souvenir shop currently features paintings by local artist Herby Moore, who will be there at 11 a.m. on July 7 to discuss his work. Visitors can learn about the inspirations behind Moore's paintings of local scenes and historical events by stopping by the Pioneer Museum and meeting the artist.

 

Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park near Mount Olivet features a dining hall, 32-room lodge, putt-putt golf, swimming pool, hiking trails, a campground, fishing and canoeing. For more information, call the park at 1-800-443-7008.
