Lake Barkley State Resort Park Hosts Boots Randolph Golf Tournament Sept. 15-17

CADIZ, Ky.Lake Barkley State Resort Park is hosting the Boots Randolph Amateur-Celebrity Golf Tournament Sept. 15-17 to raise money for the musician’s scholarship fund.

 

This fundraiser for the Boots Randolph Scholarship Fund starts Friday with a practice round, reception at 5:30 p.m. (CT), buffet dinner and dance to the Boots Randolph Band at the convention center.

 

Tournament play starts at 9 a.m. Saturday with a shotgun start for all teams. Dinner in the lodge dining room is from 5-9 p.m. with entertainment at the convention center starting at 8:30 p.m.

 

On Sunday, the shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. for all teams. Prizes will be awarded following the completion of play at the Zelner Cossey Pavillion. Prizes will be given for longest drive, closest to the pin, hole-in-one and most accurate drive.

 

Randolph, a well-known saxophone player who grew up in Trigg County, has played his music with Elvis Presley, Chet Atkins, Floyd Cramer, Johnny Cash, Richie Cole, Pete Fountain, and Tommy Newsom. The scholarship fund assists students from Trigg County.

 

Golfers may enter the tournament as individuals or teams of four. The entry fee for an individual is $275, which includes three days of golf, two dinners and entertainment on Friday and Saturday night.  The fee also covers a non-playing guest for the social hour, dinner and entertainment on Friday and Saturday. Additional fees may apply. The first 156 entries will be accepted.
