Red Skelton, Grandpa Jones Shows Weekend at Barren River, Jan. 17-19
LUCAS, Ky. – Visit Barren River Lake State Resort Park Jan. 17-19 to remember two icons and their contributions to comedy.
“Grandpa Jones,” a performance about the life of Louis Marshall Jones, better known as “Grandpa,” and his music and comedy will be Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. CST. This performance by David Hurt is free to the public thanks to Kentucky Humanities Council Inc. and Kentucky Chautauqua.

Saturday night will feature “Remembering a Legend – Tribute to Red Skelton” by J.B. Barnett. This is a comedy show in tribute to the comedy of Red Skelton. Show times are Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets for this show are $20 a person.
Come early and enjoy a barbecue buffet on Saturday night or on Sunday and enjoy a down- home-cooking buffet at lunch.

The park is surrounded by rolling, tree-covered hills, on the edge of a beautiful 10,000-acre lake. The park features 51 lodge rooms, 22 cottages, and 99 campsites.
