Barren River Lake State Resort Park Beach Temporarily Closed
LUCAS, Ky. – The beach at Barren River Lake State Resort Park will be temporarily closed due to low water levels.
Because of the low water levels at Barren River Lake, there are drop offs that could be unsafe for swimmers. Other beaches have been closed on the lake as well. The beach will open when the water levels rise.
Barren River Lake State Resort Park has a swimming pool for lodge and cottage guests, marina with boat rentals, 18-hole golf course and a fitness center.
The Kentucky State Park System is composed of 53 state parks plus an interstate park shared with Virginia. The Department of Parks, an agency of the Commerce Cabinet, operates 17 resort parks with lodges -- more than any other state.
