Frankfort, Ky. — Want to choose the best route this holiday season? By dialing the easy-to-remember 511, you can receive information about accidents, construction and weather conditions that affect the roadways. The National Weather Service also post warnings and advisories for major cities on 511. The call may save you more than just your time!

More than one million calls have been made to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s 511 Traffic and Travel Information Line since it was launched statewide in November 2002.

An interactive voice recognition system allows callers to "speak" their desired information, rather than pushing buttons. Callers can request specific information on 8,217 miles of major Kentucky roadways.

Information on the phone line and Web site (www.511.ky.gov) is current and updated 24/7 as conditions change. When traveling outside Kentucky, the same information on our highway system is available by calling 1-866-737-3767.
