KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION CABINET DISTRICT 8 ANNOUNCES ROAD CLOSURE

 

 

SOMERSET, KY (June 9, 2006)--The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 8 office will close a section of KY 1674 (Clifty Road) in Pulaski County as part of the US 27 – Northern By-Pass (I-66) project.   KY 1674 (Clifty Road) will be closed  from the intersection of KY 1674 and Wilson Road (MP 1.652) to the intersection of KY 1674 and Norwood Road (MP 1.9) to through traffic.  Traffic will be routed via Wilson Road and Whitson Road.

 

The $32,540,483 million contract for the US 27-Northern By-Pass (I-66) was awarded to Bizzack, Inc. of Lexington, Kentucky in November of 2004 and the projected completion date of this project is fall of 2007.

 

 This closure will begin on Monday, June 12, 2006 and will remain closed approximately four weeks, until the bridge construction on the approaches is complete and traffic will then be put across the new bridge and tie in to Clifty road at the Norwood Road/Clifty Road intersection.

 

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 8 office advises motorists should use caution and reduce speed in this area.
