Covington, Kentucky – (May 8, 2006) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is working to upgrade the highway network in Pendleton County. A contract, totaling $79,136.00, has been approved by the cabinet.

On KY 330 (Falmouth-Morgan Road) the bridge over Fork Lick Creek will be replaced with a new concrete surface.  M & M Services Co Inc was awarded the low bid contract in the amount of $79,136.

Pendleton County is one of eleven counties in District 6. Approximately $1.8 million has been awarded for projects in District 6 during the latest round of contract approvals. Statewide, more than $104 million worth of projects have recently been authorized.

Secretary Bill Nighbert said, “Through the leadership of Governor Fletcher, these new projects will help to repair and upgrade our aging highway infrastructure and provide safer roads that will further economic development and enhance safe travel for all Kentuckians.”

Locally, work is expected to begin in the near future and the anticipated completion date is June 30, 2006. Construction activities are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
