Road Condition Update 11:30 a.m. EST

Louisville, KY (December 8, 2005)- Kentucky Department of Highways District 5 maintenance crews are out in all eight counties treating roadways as precipitation begins to fall across the district. Roadways are currently wet, but ice could form as temperatures drop.

Maintenance crews in each county are prepared to work as long as it takes to ensure the roads are in the best condition possible during this winter event.  District 5 includes Bullitt, Franklin, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby and Spencer Counties.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet urges motorists to buckle up and drive cautiously. Please remember to safely share the road with snow removal and emergency vehicles. Condition reports on major routes are available by calling 511 or logging on to  511.ky.gov.  When traveling outside the state, call 1-866-737-3767 for Kentucky roadway conditions.
