Murphy Lane / Jefferson Co. Traffic Advisory

Louisville, Ky. (July 27, 2005) – The District Five Kentucky Department of Highways announces the temporary closure of Murphy Lane at KY 22 as part of the intersection improvement project.  Murphy Lane is scheduled to be closed only at the intersection with KY 22 from 8:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2005 until 6:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2005.  This closure will allow for culvert installation.

The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.  Motorists are urged to be cautious and reduce speed.  Stay alert and minimize distractions, and keep a safe distance between your vehicle, the car ahead, and the workers and their equipment.  This is a reminder we must all help reduce the number of highway work zone accidents and fatalities.  Slow Down to Get There!

The $1.6 million contract was awarded to Gohmann Asphalt & Construction of Clarksville, Indiana in early July. Work began immediately to add a traffic signal and turning lanes on KY 22 and Murphy Lane and correct sight distance problems at this intersection. Construction is scheduled for completion in October of 2005.
