Abbeywood Rd Traffic Advisory

Louisville, KY (August 22, 2005) - The Kentucky Department of Highways announces the temporary closure of Abbeywood Road as part of the Westport Road widening project.  This road is scheduled to be closed only at its intersection with Westport Road from approximately 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2005, until 6:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2005.  

Girard Drive at Westport Rd will be reopened to traffic no later than 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23.  Fenley Avenue and Lynne Way will remain closed at their intersections with Westport Road until 6:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2005.

The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.  Motorists are urged to be cautious and reduce speed.  Stay alert and minimize distractions, and keep a safe distance between your vehicle, the car ahead, and the workers and their equipment.  This is a reminder we must all help reduce the number of highway work zone accidents and fatalities.  Slow Down to Get There!
