Frankfort, Kentucky (May 4, 2005) - Governor Ernie Fletcher's Office announced today the release designation of $8,809,676 as part of the County Road and Municipal Aid bond funds. When the bonds are sold, Jefferson County Incorporated Cities will receive $1,897,013 and Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government will receive $6,912,663. The funding is part of the passage of the new budget during the 2005 session of the General Assembly, which included $150 million in bonds for county and city roads and bridges.

"The money that will be distributed to Louisville/Jefferson County reinforces our commitment to providing a safe and reliable transportation system for all our citizens," stated Governor Ernie Fletcher. "The money will allow Louisville/Jefferson County to make improvements for bridges and paving and rehabilitation of existing roads."

As part of the awarded $150 million dollars for County Road and Municipal Aid bond funds, Governor Fletcher has directed an estimated $8,809,676 to Louisville/Jefferson County from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Department of Intergovernmental Programs. The amount awarded to Louisville/Jefferson County is based on a formula developed by statute.
