District 5 Road Show for the week of July 25, 2011
ROADSHOW for the week beginning July 25, 2011
Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory nature and is subject to change with no notice.
Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.
Jefferson County: Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between Interstate 64 and US 60 (mile points 25.4 and 26.7) due to interchange improvements. Lane closures are possible on weeknights from 8:00 p.m. each evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane and ramp closures are possible from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, until 5:00 a.m. on Monday. The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 55 MPH. Motorists should watch for construction trucks and other equipment entering and exiting the roadway from behind the barrier wall.
Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway): Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between Dixie Highway and Preston Highway (mile points 8.0 and 12.7) due to concrete repairs and diamond grinding on this section of roadway. Lane and ramp closures are possible on weeknights Monday – Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane and ramp closures are possible from 10:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Monday. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 45 MPH.
Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between Shelbyville Road and LaGrange Road (mile points 26.6 and 30.6) due to concrete repairs and diamond grinding on this section of roadway. The roadway may be reduced to one lane weeknights Monday – Thursday from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane closures are possible from 7:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 MPH. Interstate 265/KY 841 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Shoulder closures and delays possible at the following locations due to message sign and camera.
• New Cut Road (mile point 6.0) • Smyrna Road (mile point 13.5) • Taylorsville Road (mile point 23.1) • Old Henry Road (mile point 28.5)
US 31E (Bardstown Road): Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between I-265 and Cedar Look Drive (mile points 4.7 and 5.3) due to ramp improvements. The roadway may be reduced to one lane in each direction weeknights Monday – Thursday from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane closures are possible from 8:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday. The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone. Shoulder closures possible on the ramps to I-265.
KY 1819 (Ruckreigel Parkway): Lane closures and delays possible between Billtown Road and Taylorsville Road (mile points 8.89 and 9.39) due to roadway resurfacing. Lane closures are possible weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.
KY 1065 (Outer Loop): Roadway is closed at the Northern Ditch bridge (mile point 1.4) for bridge deck restoration. Closure is scheduled through mid-August. Motorists should follow the signed detour via National Turnpike, KY 841 and New Cut Road.
Bullitt County: Southbound Interstate 65: The right and center lanes will be closed at mile point 115.8 due to pavement repairs. These lane closures are scheduled from 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28th until 5:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29th.
KY 44: Lane closures and delays possible at mile point 21.3 near Central Boulevard due to shoulder repairs. This lane closure is scheduled for Tuesday, July 26th from 6:00 p.m. until midnight.
KY 480 (Cedar Grove Road): Construction delays possible between Interstate 65 and Cedar Grove Elementary School (mile points 1.0 and 2.0) due to roadway widening.
KY 61: Roadway will be reduced to one lane at the bridge over the Salt River (mile point 14.0) due to bridge deck restoration. Work is scheduled to begin the week of August 1st and will continue for approximately six weeks. Traffic will be controlled by a temporary signal.
East Blue Lick Road: Roadway will be closed at railroad crossing near KY 1020. This crossing will be closed July 25th-29th to allow for safety improvements.
Franklin County: Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible between mile point 57.2 in Franklin County and mile point 65.7 in Woodford County due to media cable barrier installation. Lane closures will be possible Sundays through Thursdays from 8:00 p.m. each evening until 7:00 a.m. the following morning. Shoulder closures may be in place during daytime hours. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 MPH.
KY 12 (Dry Ridge Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the Franklin/Shelby county line and KY 1570 (mile points 0 and 1) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 368 (Cedar Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the Franklin/Scott county line and the Franklin/Owen county line (mile points 0 and 3.4) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 1570 (St. John’s Road): Lane closures and delays possible between US 421 and the Quire Branch Bridge (mile points 0.0 and 4.5) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 1263 (Big Eddy Road): Roadway is closed at mile point 3 due to a rock slide. Repairs schedule indefinite.
Henry County: Routine maintenance
Oldham County: US 42: Lane closures and delays possible between KY 1793 and Harmony Landing Road (mile points 2.3 and 3.0) due to installation of turning lanes at North Oldham High School. Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and all day on weekends. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of July.
Shelby County: Interstate 64: Construction delays possible between the Jefferson/Shelby County line and the Simpsonville exit (mile points 23.2 to 28.1) due to roadway widening. Intermittent traffic stoppages up to 15 minutes in length may occur daily between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. due to blasting operations. The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone. Westbound motorists should exercise caution due to divided lanes and limited shoulders at bridges. The Cabinet’s Division of Motor Carriers has restricted over dimensional loads to a maximum width of 12 feet. Westbound traffic must stay in the right lane when attempting to use exit 28.
KY 395: Construction delays possible just north of Interstate 64 at the Flying J Truck Stop (mile point 8.6) due to roadway realignment. Road is closed to thru traffic until early August. Motorists traveling on KY 395 between I-64 and US 60 should follow the signed detour.
KY 362 (Aiken Road): Roadway to be closed for bridge replacement at Junkins Run (mile point 6.2). Road is closed until August 1st. Motorists should follow the signed detour via KY 1848, US 60 and Long Run Road.
KY 362, KY 395: Shoulder closures and delays possible due to ditch cleaning.
KY 395: Shoulder closures and delays possible between mile points 0 and 2 due to rail mowing.
Spencer County: KY 1633 (Elk Creek Road): Lane closures and delays possible due to drainage repairs and rail mowing.
KY 3192 (Wilsonville Road): Lane closures and delays possible due to rail mowing.
Trimble County: US 421: Construction delays possible near the bridge over the Ohio River (mile points 18.7 to 19.2).
