I-71 Corridor Improvement Project Public Meeting Advisory
LOUISVILLE, KY. --(November 6, 2005)—The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be holding two public meetings regarding improvements on Interstate 71 from the Kennedy Interchange to the Gene Snyder Freeway (I-265). The public is invited to view solutions for improving safety and traffic movement along the I-71 corridor particularly at the interchanges on this highway. Representatives of the Transportation Cabinet and the consulting engineering team will be available to answer questions and discuss the project. The meeting times and locations are listed below:
Tuesday, November 8, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Republic Bank, 9600 Brownsboro Road (KY 22), Louisville, KY. Presentation at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, November 15, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kammerer Middle School, 7315 Wesboro Road, Louisville, KY. Presentation at 6:30 p.m.
At previous public meetings in the spring of 2004, citizens were given the opportunity to provide input regarding areas of concern along I-71. Based on the public input from those meetings, the Transportation Cabinet has developed a plan to implement focused solutions that will improve safety and ease congestion. At the meetings, persons in attendance may provide written or oral comments. Comments may also be mailed until November 30, 2005 to the Transportation Cabinet at 977 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY 40233.
