Interstate 71 Traffic Advisory

Louisville, KY (January 18, 2006) -  District 5 of the Department of Highways announces a temporary lane closure on northbound Interstate 71 in Louisville Metro Thursday night, January 19, 2006.  The right lane of northbound Interstate 71 at Interstate 264 (mile point 4.9) will be closed from 9:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. midnight to allow for lighting repairs.  The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. 

Motorists are urged to be cautious and reduce speed.  Stay alert and minimize distractions, and keep a safe distance between your vehicle, the car ahead, and the workers and their equipment.  This is a reminder we must all help reduce the number of highway work zone accidents and fatalities.  Slow Down to Get There!
