Louisville, KY  (November 17, 2005) - The District 5 Department of Highways office in Louisville announces temporary lane closures on Interstate 65  in  Bullitt and Jefferson Counties on  Thursday, November 17, 2005.  The right two lanes of southbound I-65 between the KY 61 underpass (MP 118.7) and the Salt River Bridge (MP 116) will be closed between  6:00 p.m. Thursday and 5:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18  to allow for pavement repair.

In addition, the right lane of northbound I-65 between the Breckinridge St. bridge (MP 135) and the Jackson St. bridge (MP 136) in Metro Louisville will be closed from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. midnight, Thursday, Nov. 17 to allow for barrier wall repair.

The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists are urged to be cautious and reduce speed.  Stay alert and minimize distractions, and keep a safe distance between your vehicle, the car ahead, and the workers and their equipment.  This is a reminder we must all help reduce the number of highway work zone accidents and fatalities.  Slow Down to Get There!
