Louisville, KY (January 12, 2006) - District 5 of the Department of Highways  announces  temporary on-ramp and lane closures on Interstate 65  in downtown Metro Louisville Thursday night, January 12, 2006.  The I64 west - I71south ramp to I65 south will be reduced to one lane from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. midnight to allow for barrier wall repairs.  In addition, the left lane of southbound I65 in “hospital curve” (mile points 136 – 135) will be closed from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. midnight to allow for barrier wall repairs.  The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. 

Motorists are urged to be cautious and reduce speed.  Stay alert and minimize distractions, and keep a safe distance between your vehicle, the car ahead, and the workers and their equipment.  This is a reminder we must all help reduce the number of highway work zone accidents and fatalities.  Slow Down to Get There!
