Department of Highways, District 5
US 60 / Simpsonville Traffic Advisory
Louisville, KY (September 27, 2005) - The District 5 Department of Highways office in Louisville announces a reduction in lane width on US 60 in Simpsonville at the bridge over the CSX Railroad (mile point 2.6) beginning Wednesday, September 28, 2005. Traffic will be switched to the new outside lanes on this bridge replacement project. Due to the barrier walls in place, these lanes are only 11 feet wide. These lane width restrictions will remain in place until December 2005.
Motorists are urged to be cautious and reduce speed. Stay alert and minimize distractions, and keep a safe distance between your vehicle, the car ahead, and the construction workers and their equipment. This is a reminder we must all help reduce the number of highway work zone accidents and fatalities. Slow Down to Get There!
The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
