Temporary closure of railroad crossing on East Blue Lick Road in Bullitt County

Louisville, KY (June 23, 2011) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office announces the temporary closure of the CSX railroad crossing on East Blue Lick Road near KY 1020 in Bullitt County.  This crossing is being closed from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5th until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11th to allow for safety improvements. 

Numerous vehicles have become stuck on the crossing due to its height.  KYTC crews are raising the roadway on both sides of the track and increasing the turn radius for trucks turning from East Blue Lick Road onto KY 1020.
