ROADSHOW for the week beginning May 30, 2011

No interstate lane closures will occur during the Memorial Day Weekend


Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory nature and is subject to change with no notice.


Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night.  Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.

Jefferson County:
Eastbound Interstate 64:  Left two lanes will be closed near I-264 (Georgia Davis Powers Expressway) at mile point 0.75 due to pavement repairs.  These lane closures are scheduled for Wednesday, June 1st from 8:00 p.m. until midnight.

Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway):  Lane closures and delays possible between Interstate 64 and US 60 (mile points 25.4 and 26.7) due to interchange improvements.  Lane closures are possible on weeknights from 8:00 p.m. each evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.  On weekends, lane and ramp closures are possible from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.  The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 55 MPH.  Motorists should watch for construction trucks and other equipment entering and exiting the roadway from behind the barrier wall. 

Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway):  Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between Dixie Highway and Preston Highway (mile points 8.0 and 12.7) due to concrete repairs and diamond grinding on this section of roadway.  Lane and ramp closures are possible on weeknights Monday – Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane and ramp closures are possible from 10:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Monday.  The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 45 MPH.

Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway):  Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between Shelbyville Road and LaGrange Road (mile points 26.6 and 30.6) due to concrete repairs and diamond grinding on this section of roadway.  The roadway may be reduced to one lane weeknights Monday – Thursday from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane closures are possible from 7:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.  The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 MPH.
 
Westbound Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway):  Shoulder closures and delays possible between Smyrna Road and Preston Highway (mile point 12.3 to 12.7) due to sound barrier installation.

KY 61 (Preston Highway):  Roadway will be closed to thru traffic at the railroad crossing between Oaklawn Drive and Tower Road (mile point 4.9) due to crossing repairs.  Closure is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3rd until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5th.  Local access will be allowed.  Through traffic should follow the signed detour via Jefferson Boulevard.

KY 1819 (Watterson Trail):  Lane closures and delays possible between Grand Avenue and Electron Drive due to construction of a multi-use path.  Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

KY 155 (Taylorsville Road):  Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with Blankenbaker Parkway (mile point 8.2) due to construction of the Blankenbaker Parkway extension.

KY 913 (Blankenbaker Parkway):  Construction delays possible at the intersection with Blankenbaker Access Drive (mile point 0.9) due to roadway construction.

KY 1931 (St. Andrews Church Road):  Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with St. Anthony Church Road (mile point 4.2) due to installation of a turning lane.  Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

KY 1934 (Cane Run Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between Ralph Avenue and Algonquin Parkway (mile points 10.0 and 11.5) due to roadway resurfacing.  Lane closures are possible in the evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

KY 2049 (Crums Lane):  Lane closures and delays possible between Cane Run Road and Chevoit Drive (mile points 0.0 and 0.6) due to roadway resurfacing.  Lane closures are possible in the evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

Bullitt County:
US 31E (Bardstown Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between the Bullitt/Spencer County line and the Bullitt/Jefferson County line (mile points 0.0 and 5.1) due to roadway resurfacing.  Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and all day on weekends.

KY 480 (Cedar Grove Road):  Construction delays possible between Interstate 65 and Cedar Grove Elementary School (mile points 1.0 and 2.0) due to roadway widening.

Franklin County:
KY 1263 (Big Eddy Road):  Roadway is closed at mile point 3 due to a rock slide.  Repairs schedule indefinite.

Henry County:
US 421 (Eminence Road-Main Street):  Lane closures and delays possible between KY 202 and KY 55 (mile points 13.2 and 15.1) due to roadway resurfacing. 

KY 55 (Eminence Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between US 421 and the north end of Town Creek bridge (mile points 3.366 and 4.490) due to roadway resurfacing. 

Oldham County:
US 42:  Lane closures and delays possible between KY 1793 and Harmony Landing Road (mile points 2.3 and 3.0) due to installation of turning lanes at North Oldham High School.  Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and all day on weekends.  Work is scheduled to begin June 6th and be completed by the end of July.
 
Shelby County:
Interstate 64:  Construction delays possible between the Jefferson/Shelby County line and the Simpsonville exit (mile points 23.2 to 28.1) due to roadway widening.  The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone.

US60:  Lane closures and delays possible at intersection with KY 55 (Shelbyville Bypass), mile point 8.3, due to traffic signal modification and roadway striping.  Lane closures are scheduled from 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31st until 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1st.

Spencer County:
KY 248 (Briar Ridge Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between KY 44 and the Little Beech Creek Bridge (mile points 0.0 and 2.6) due to roadway resurfacing. 

Trimble County:
US 421:  Construction delays possible near the bridge over the Ohio River (mile points 18.7 to 19.2).
