WHY:         In Kentucky last year there were 529 crashes and eight deaths inside work zones.  Nationally, a crash happens in a construction zone every nine minutes. This press conference is part of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s efforts to promote work zone safety.  KYTC is building on the national “working at the speed of night” theme and coordinating work zone safety events throughout the state during the month of April.
