The District Four Department of Highways office in Elizabethtown announces the closing of two inside lanes of the Martha Layne Collins – Bluegrass Parkway between the 5 and 6 mile marker in Hardin County.
Contractors have closed the two left (inside lanes at MP 5-6) of the Martha Layne Collins – Bluegrass Parkway and will remain closed for approximately two weeks.  Closure is necessary to build temporary crossovers for traffic when contractors begin blasting and removing fallen rock that has become a hazard to the traveling public.  Once the crossovers are in place, the right lanes will be closed and eastbound traffic will be diverted to the westbound side, with two-way traffic in the westbound lanes.  Construction is expected to last until late February, weather permitting.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the area while traffic is being shifted and pay special attention to workers in the construction area. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone and will be enforced.
