Governor Fletcher & Transportation Cabinet Award a $353,457.51 Highway Contract in Larue County
Elizabethtown, KY – (August 26, 2005) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is working to upgrade the highway network in Larue County. A contract, totaling $353,457.51, has been approved by the cabinet.
“Our highway system is the driving force behind Kentucky’s economic prosperity and flourishing commerce,” said Governor Ernie Fletcher. “These projects are an example of our continuing work to provide a safe and reliable transportation system throughout the commonwealth.”
Under this contract, three routes in Larue County will be resurfaced – KY 210 from MP 0 to MP 5; KY 470 from MP 11 to MP 15; and KY 2760 from MP 0 to MP 1. Scotty’s Contracting and Stone, LLC of Bowling Green , KY was awarded the low bid contract in the amount of $353,457.51.
Larue County is one of 11 counties in District 4. Approximately $28 million has been awarded for projects in District 4 during the latest round of contract approvals. Statewide, more than $110 million worth of projects have recently been authorized.
“These maintenance projects reflect our commitment to the traveling public,” said acting Transportation Secretary Bill Nighbert. “Kentucky’s motorists can rest assured that they are driving on safe, reliable roads.”
Locally, work is expected to begin in the near future and should be complete by the end of the year. Construction activities are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
