ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (Sept. 17, 2010) — Motorists traveling on Interstate 65 in Hart and LaRue counties next week should expect lane reductions and possible delays in both directions.

A contract crew is scheduled to repair guardrail in Hart County between the 55 and 72 mile markers Monday, Sept. 20 through Wednesday, Sept. 22.

Also, drilling in the median will require lane restrictions Tuesday, Sept. 21. The inside lane of southbound I-65 will be closed between the 75 and 74 mile markers, near the Hart and LaRue county line. The inside lane of northbound I-65 will be closed between the 74 and 81 mile markers, from the northern edge of Hart County to near the Sonora exit in southern Hardin County. The geotechnical work will help engineers plan installation of additional median barriers.

Motorists should use extra caution in the work zones and be prepared for slowing and stopped traffic.
