MANCHESTER, KY  (July 5, 2006) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Bridge Crew with assistance from Jackson County Crew 055 is improving safety on KY 30 in Jackson County.  A culvert located in a curve near Zekes Point Road has been extended by 8 feet.   This section of KY 30 is a major hauling route for large tanker trucks transporting gas and oil from Booneville.  This safety improvement project is something local residents have been requesting as they have seen numerous crashes at this location and a fatality in recent years.

Funding for this project was provided through maintenance funds with cabinet personnel Tim Sizemore and Jerry Sams from the Bridge Crew, Jackson County employees Tim Parks, Tim Isaacs and Michael Singleton completing the work under the direction of Jimmy Singleton.
