GOVERNOR ERNIE FLETCHER AND TRANSPORTATION CABINET ANNOUNCE $400,000 IN TRANSPORTATION FUNDS FOR BELL COUNTY - Funding for Resurfacing of Various County Roads
MANCHESTER, KY (September 15, 2006) Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announced today that $400,000 in KYTC bond funds have been awarded to Bell County. Local officials have just been informed about the bond funds.
“I want to commend Governor Ernie Fletcher for his leadership,” said Secretary of Transportation Bill Nighbert. “The improvements we make to our local transportation system improve the quality of life for everyone. It’s partnerships like this with local governments that further underscore the Governor’s commitment to building strong communities in Bell County and across the commonwealth.”
The following bond funds were announced today:
Bell County--$400,000 for resurfacing various county roads
In the past two years, local governments have received more additional state funding for their local road systems than at any other time in the history of the Commonwealth.
