MANCHESTER, KY. ---(November 16, 2006)— The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announces construction at the intersection of US 25 & KY 192 in Laurel County beginning Friday, November 17, 2006.

Installation of two through lanes on US 25 at KY 192, from Milepoint 10-11, (South Laurel High School extending north of the intersection near Burger Boy Restaurant) will relieve congestion in this area, reducing delays at the intersection in the vicinity of the high school.  Additionally, dual left turn lanes will be installed on KY 192 turning onto US 25.

Construction will be scheduled to avoid lane closures during peak flow periods and efforts will be made to allow morning and afternoon school traffic to flow unimpeded.  The center left turn lanes will be handling through traffic, at various times, while work progresses on adjacent lanes.

The actual starting date and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.

This project is expected to be complete within 2-3 weeks.

MOTORISTS SHOULD WATCH FOR SLOWED/STOPPED TRAFFIC
