JACKSON, KY - (July 10, 2006) – Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet are taking action to make an emergency upgrade to an Estill County highway. Repairs to Upper Twin Creek Road totaling $26,000 have been authorized.

"When emergency situations require repairs, it is our goal to make those repairs as quickly as possible," said Bill Nighbert, Transportation Cabinet secretary. "This project should make travel safer for those who use this road each day to get to work or school."

The project involves replacing a drainage structure on Upper Twin Creek road, located 1.2 miles southeast of KY 82.

The county will be responsible for the work and the cost will be paid from County Road Aid emergency funds.
