JACKSON, KY – (April 11, 2006) -- Motorists on KY 7 in Perry County are urged to use caution in the vicinity of mile marker 8 due to a shoulder failure. While two-way traffic is still being maintained in this area, drivers should slow down and be observant for oncoming traffic that may swerve into the opposite lane to avoid the dropoff.

Emergency repairs to the shoulder failure will begin Wednesday, April 12 at 8 a.m. and will continue through the remainder of the week. When the repairs begin, traffic will be reduced to one lane and motorists should expect delays. There may be some temporary closures of KY 7 at this location while the work progresses.

Motorists should "Drive Smart" and be on the lookout for flaggers, workers, equipment and traffic control devices while the repairs are being made.
