Governor Fletcher and Transportation Cabinet announce $34,320 in County Road Aid emergency funding to Powell County Fiscal Court

FRANKFORT, KY –(June 15, 2006)—Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet today announced emergency road funding for the Powell County Fiscal Court. The county has been authorized to receive $34,320 for slip or slide repair on Hatton Creek School Road. Repairs will be made to a 0.028-mile portion of the road located 0.5 miles south of Caudill Road.

"This project is just one example of the cabinet’s commitment to recognizing a problem and taking action for a solution," said Transportation Secretary Bill Nighbert. "These emergency funds are being used to improve safety and mobility in Powell County."

County Road Aid emergency funds will be used for this project. The county is responsible for all phases of the work. A check will be issued directly to the county for payment for the repairs.
