Department of Highways District 10 to sponsor motorcycle show as fundraiser for March of Dimes
JACKSON, KY. – (March 23, 2006) -- Members of the public are invited to take part in a motorcycle show sponsored by the Department of Highways District 10 to raise funds for the March of Dimes.
The show is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, and will take place on the front lawn of the district office, 473 Highway 15 South, Jackson. Registration runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and judging will take place between noon and 1 p.m.
The entry fee is $15, and trophies for first, second and third place will be awarded in five categories: American Street Bike, Foreign Street Bike, Sport Bike, Custom Bike and Dirt Bike. There will also be a prize for Best of Show.
Door prizes will be awarded, music will be provided by "Mister DJ" Marc Adams from Beattyville, and refreshments will be available.
"By joining in, we show that the District 10 Department of Highways and its employees care about our community," said Linda Wagner-Justice, chief district engineer. "We believe our efforts will help save babies from premature birth and birth defects. More than ever, organizations like ours must demonstrate their willingness to serve their communities, and we believe the March of Dimes is a great choice for our charitable efforts."

District 10 includes the counties of Breathitt, Estill, Lee, Magoffin, Menifee, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Powell and Wolfe in east-central and southeastern Kentucky.
