Weight Limit Lowered to 15 Tons on US 460 Bridge in Magoffin County

JACKSON, KY – (April 21, 2006) – Following a recent inspection, the Kentucky Department of Highways has lowered the weight limit on a bridge carrying US 460 across the Licking River in western Magoffin County.

Signs will be erected as soon as possible noting the new weight limit of 15 tons for all traffic. The decision was made because of the condition of the bridge’s superstructure. The bridge’s previous weight limit was 20 tons.

This bridge is located 1.75 miles east of the Morgan County line, approximately 9.4 miles west of Salyersville and 12.6 miles east of West Liberty.
