Transportation Cabinet authorizes repair funds for two Perry County highways
JACKSON, KY - (Aug. 23, 2005) -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is taking action to repair breaks in pavement on two Perry County roadways. More than $50,000 has been authorized for slip repair work on KY 2446 (Lost Creek-Dice Road) and KY 2021 (Willard Creek-Busy-Typo Road).
"When emergency situations require repairs, it is our goal to make those repairs as quickly as possible," said Bill Nighbert, acting Transportation Cabinet secretary. "These projects should make travel safer for those who use these roads each day to get to work or school."
Repairs will be made to Lost Creek-Dice Road at milepoint four at a cost of $38,610. The work on Willard Creek-Busy-Typo Road will be at milepoint four and cost $12,012. Crews will correct slips and slides along the mountainous roads.
The projects will be completed by Transportation Cabinet workers and the cost will be paid from the Rural Secondary Emergency Fund.
