JACKSON, KY – (June 22, 2005) -- In order to replace a culvert, the Kentucky Department of Highways plans to close US 460 in Menifee County on the evening of Friday, July 15. Weather permitting, the highway will be closed at 7 p.m. and will reopen to traffic when the work is complete.

The closure location is between mile markers 1 and 2 near Means, just east of the Montgomery County line. Traffic between Frenchburg and Mt. Sterling will be affected.

The recommended eastbound detour route is I-64 east from Mt. Sterling to Exit 121 at Owingsville, then KY 36 east through Bath County to return to US 460 at Frenchburg. Westbound motorists should reverse the route, taking KY 36 west at Frenchburg and entering I-64 west at Owingsville.

Local passenger vehicle traffic may opt to use KY 713 as a detour route.

The closure will be rescheduled in case of inclement weather.

The work was previously scheduled for June 10, but was postponed due to construction along the detour route.
