| JACKSON, KY – (May 13, 2005) -- As part of Governor Ernie Fletcher’s vision to provide a safe and reliable transportation system, acting Transportation Secretary Bill Nighbert announces a highway improvement project in Wolfe County. "As part of our highway-economic development plan, this road project will improve mobility while providing more opportunities to the people of Wolfe County and Kentucky," said Governor Ernie Fletcher. The project involves asphalt resurfacing of nearly five miles of KY 11, Beattyville-Natural Bridge-Slade Road, between KY 715 and the Powell County line. Hinkle Contracting Corp. of Paris was awarded the low bid contract for $278,395. Work is expected to begin in the near future and the anticipated completion date is Sept. 30. Construction activities are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions. --30-- |
