Press Release Date:  January 27, 2005
Contact:  H.B. Elkins, Information Officer, 606-666-8841,

JACKSON, KY – (Jan. 27, 2005) -- In order to replace a damaged drain pipe, the Kentucky Department of Highways plans to close KY 267 in Perry County for one day on Tuesday, Feb. 8. The closure will take place between milepoints 0 and 1, or between the beginning of state maintenance at Typo and KY 15 at Bonnyman.

The road will be closed at 8 a.m. and should reopen by 4:30 p.m., according to maintenance personnel in the Jackson district office.

Work is expected to take one day or less to complete. In case of inclement weather, the closure will be pushed back to the next suitable workday.

"We apologize for this inconvenience," said Linda Wagner-Justice, acting chief district engineer. "We have tried to schedule this closure for a time which will cause the least disruption. Our personnel will work as fast as they can to complete the repairs and reopen the road. We prefer not to close roads for maintenance and repair unless it is absolutely necessary, and unfortunately that is the case in this instance."
