JACKSON, KY – (July 11, 2006) -- In order to repair a drainage pipe, KY 2469 (Athol-Highland-Shoulderblade Road) in Breathitt County will be closed on Thursday, July 20. The closure point will be at the east side of the railroad underpass, near KY 52 at Athol. Motorists should use an alternate route, but are advised that Highland Road, which intersects KY 52 just across the Lee County line, has a height restriction of 7 feet due to a low-clearance railroad underpass and thus is unsuitable as a detour for vehicles taller than 7 feet. The closure is expected to last one day.
