JACKSON, KY – (May 13, 2005) -- The Kentucky Department of Highways has scheduled asphalt surface patching on KY 550 in Perry County on Monday. This will affect travel in the Airport Gardens area of Hazard.

Weather permitting, patching is planned in the area between McDonald’s Restaurant and the old Appalachian Regional Hospital. Another segment to be patched is near the KY 476 intersection at Darfork, near the old M.C. Napier High School.

The work will start shortly after 8 a.m. and should be completed by early afternoon. Traffic between KY 476 and Crawford Mountain Road will be impacted.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the work area, and to be alert for flaggers, workers, equipment which may block a portion of the roadway, and other items of concern in work zones. They should pay attention to warning signs alerting them of the roadwork.
