| JACKSON, KY – (April 18, 2005) -- KY 613 in Powell County is again open to traffic as a bridge replacement project nears completion.
In October 2004, the Kentucky Department of Highways had closed the bridge on KY 613 over Short Creek near mile marker 4 due to damage from flooding. The bridge was scheduled for replacement before the damage occurred.
Traffic is now using the new bridge and only incidental work on the bridge and approaches remains to be done before the project is complete.
Jones & Bourland, Inc. built the new bridge at a cost of $230,710.75.
KY 613 links the Bowen community in Powell County with KY 77 in the Red River Gorge area of Menifee County.
