Area residents invited to attend public meeting on improvements to KY 172 in Morgan County
JACKSON, KY – Residents of Morgan and nearby counties are invited to attend a public informational meeting to discuss a project to improve an eight-mile section of KY 172 in eastern Morgan County.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at East Valley Elementary School, 9199 Highway 172, West Liberty.
Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and project consultants will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project. Design plans will be available for public review.
This proposal consists of three separate connecting projects to widen, realign and straighten portions of KY 172 between milepoints 2.0 and 10.4. This route connects the eastern portion of Morgan County to the county seat of West Liberty and currently carries between 1,200 and 1,800 vehicles per day. The improvements will enhance safety and be designed to meet future traffic demands.
Persons with disabilities who wish to attend the meeting but have special needs that require assistance should contact the project manager, Corbett Caudill, at (606) 666-8841 to request special assistance.
