Traffic pattern change scheduled for Mountain Parkway in Wolfe County
JACKSON, KY – Weather permitting, a new traffic pattern will go into effect on the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway on Tuesday, May 4, in the vicinity of the construction project near Exit 43.
On that date, all traffic will be shifted to the new bridge crossing Swift Camp Creek near Campton Lake. Between that bridge and the interchange at Exit 43, eastbound traffic will shift to one lane in the new eastbound lanes of the four-lane highway, and westbound traffic will use one lane on the old roadway, which is slated to become the westbound lanes.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on the new Swift Camp Creek bridge while the old structure is demolished and a new one built in its place.
The speed limit in this construction zone is 45 mph. Drivers are urged to use caution in this and other work zone areas. Electronic message boards will be placed to caution drivers of the traffic pattern change.
Inclement weather between now and May 4 may delay the traffic pattern change.
