Bridge repairs to result in lane closures on Mountain Parkway in Powell County

JACKSON, KY – Beginning tomorrow, motorists using the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway in Powell County can expect lane closures and possible delays as work begins on two bridge repair projects.

The first project will take place in the parkway’s eastbound lanes near mile marker 32, just prior to Exit 33 at Slade. After that project is complete, work will move to the westbound bridge at the Clark County line near mile marker 12.

Both projects will last approximately seven days each. During each week-long period, motorists can expect lane closures and changing traffic patterns at the work sites. Drivers should reduce speed in these locations, and are urged to always "Drive Smart" and be aware of workers, traffic control devices and construction equipment.
