Delays possible on Perry County highways

JACKSON, KY – Delays are possible on a couple of Perry County highways over the next few days.

Today, motorists in the Woodland Park area of Hazard will experience delays as beams are delivered for the new bridge under construction on KY 2448. Traffic into and out of the Woodland Park subdivision may be delayed for up to an hour as the beams are delivered, while KY 451 traffic should experience only minor delays.

Also on KY 451, a rockfall removal project will begin on Monday, April 5 near the Hazard water plant. This project should last approximately one week, depending on the weather, and delays should be expected in this area. Drivers should seek alternate routes during times of peak traffic to avoid delays.

Motorists are asked to “Drive Smart” in these and all other work zones and be aware of workers, traffic control devices and construction equipment when traveling in these and other areas where projects are ongoing.
