Year-long closure of KY 1274 begins Wednesday, Oct. 14
JACKSON, KY – Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 14, KY 1274 in Menifee County will be closed between milepoints 6.5 and 8.0 for a rockfall mitigation project. The closure is expected to last approximately one year.
Local traffic will be detoured via a signed route consisting of KY 36, US 460 and KY 1693. KY 1274 will remain open east from KY 36 to Scranton Road, and west from KY 1693 to the Longbow Marina. The section between Scranton and Longbow will be closed to all traffic while the construction project is ongoing.
Motorists who use KY 1274 to connect with KY 801 or KY 519 in Rowan County as a route from Frenchburg to Morehead may use an unmarked detour consisting of KY 36, KY 211 and US 60 through Salt Lick to Farmers and Morehead.
