KY 89 in Estill County to be closed on Wednesday, June 17
JACKSON, KY – Personnel from the Kentucky Department of Highways, Estill County Maintenance, will remove a slide on KY 89 on Wednesday, June 17. The work will take place between mile markers 7 and 8, between South Irvine and Drip Rock. The project will begin around 8 a.m. and will continue all day until the work is completed. During this time, the road will be closed to all through traffic.
No marked detour will be posted, but motorists can use Murphy’s Ford Road and KY 594 (Red Lick Road) as an alternate route. Drivers should plan their trips accordingly.
In case of inclement weather, the closure will be postponed.
