KY 1261 bridge closure in Wolfe County extended
JACKSON, KY – Due to inclement weather this week, the closure of KY 1261 in Wolfe County for bridge repairs will be extended for at least one week.
The closure is at the Stillwater Creek crossing at milepoint 7.7, near the route’s intersection with KY 1812 at Landsaw. The closure was originally scheduled to end Monday, May 11, but this week’s rain has delayed work. The new estimated date for completion of the work is Friday, May 15.
During the week-long closure, the bridge’s deck will be repaired. Further inclement weather during this period will force the closure to be extended again as required to complete the work.
No marked detour will be posted, but motorists can use KY 15 and KY 1812 as alternate routes.
