JACKSON, KY – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will host an information meeting outlining the details of the KYTC’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals for the fiscal year.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, June 5, from 10:30 a.m.-noon, at the KYTC Department of Highways District 10 office in Jackson. Similar forums are being held at 11 other highway district offices across Kentucky.

DBE is a program for minority and female-owned businesses.  These forums are in preparation for releasing the proposed goal for fiscal year 2009. These forums allow the public and current DBE’s the opportunity to discuss the goals and the goal setting process for the DBE program. Following these forums the goal methodology for the 2009 fiscal year will be posted on the branch website.

Written comments regarding the proposed goal may be submitted to Melvin Bynes, Office for Business and Occupational Development (OBOD), W6-7, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Office Building, 200 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY 40622. For further information call the office at (800) 928-3079 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or visit OBOD’s website at
