JACKSON, KY – Work will resume next week on a $4.6 million project to paint and repair several bridges along the KY 15 corridor in Breathitt, Knott and Perry Counties.

Weather permitting, the project will resume in Perry County with work beginning on the bridge carrying KY 15 over KY 80 and KY 550 (Combs Road) and the North Fork of the Kentucky River north of Hazard.

Traffic on both KY 15 and Combs Road will be impacted. The primary impact will be on Combs Road, where traffic will be controlled by flaggers while the project is ongoing. Motorists on KY 15 may also experience slight delays and short lane closures while the contractor sets up for work on the bridge.

Construction activities are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to “Drive Smart” in work zones and be aware of workers, flaggers, traffic control devices and construction equipment when traveling in areas where projects are ongoing.
