Work Begins May 29 on KY 28 Improvements in Owsley County

JACKSON, KY – (May 24, 2007) – Motorists traveling KY 28 just east of Booneville should be prepared for road construction and possible delays beginning next week, as work begins on a $2 million highway safety project.

Construction of a turn lane on KY 28, Booneville-Buckhorn Road, in the vicinity of Owsley County Elementary School and Owsley County High School will get started on Tuesday, May 29, and last into the fall.

Construction activities are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to "Drive Smart" in work zones and be aware of workers, traffic control devices and construction equipment when traveling in areas where projects are ongoing.
