JACKSON, KY. – (April 30, 2007) – In order to allow crews to finalize the installation of new traffic signals at the intersection of KY 80 and Justice Drive near Hazard in Perry County, the signals will be out of service on Monday, May 7 from 8 a.m. until approximately noon.

New signals were recently installed at this intersection after the existing ones were damaged in a traffic collision. These signals have been operational since that time, but must be taken out of service temporarily to allow for permanent installation.

The work will be done weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled either by a temporary four-way stop or by flaggers.

Motorists are urged to use extreme caution in this area while the signals are out of service. They are asked to “Drive Smart” in this work zone and be aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling in this area.
